Cuff The Duke show

Cuff The Duke, a great band from Ontario, are playing at The Exchange on Saturday, October 6. We got the opportunity to open the show, and we jumped at it! Cuff The Duke have been through Regina a few times. They just released their sixth album and have been nominated for a Juno award. We’re very excited to get the chance to play with them. Tickets are $15 and are available online at Ticket Edge, or in person at Vintage Vinyl and Madame Yes. Check out the Facebook event page here.

Farewell to The Distrikt

The Distrikt has been one of the best live music venues in Regina since I’ve been old enough to go to shows. Unfortunately, the owners have decided to shut it down, but not before one last weekend of music. We were able to score a slot on Thursday night, so come see us as the third of four bands. Here’s a Facebook event for your RSVPing pleasure.

CD released

Our CD release show was a success! We officially began selling the disc, and while we had everyone there, we also played a show, with Danny Goertz opening. It was a great time for everyone. We’d like to thank Orion Paradis for doing live sound for us. He also recorded the EP, so no one knows the new songs better than him. We even hired a lighting company for something a little extra.

If you missed the show, you can buy the EP online at a bunch of places, including iTunes (click here). We’ll also have CDs at all our future shows.

Danny Goertz added to CD release party

Danny Goertz has graciously agreed to kick things off at our CD release party with an acoustic set. We played a show with Danny once before and he impressed us all with his smooth voice and excellent song-writing. Danny’s also the lead singer for the band Fly Points. We checked out their gig last weekend, and they’ve got a great sound. They’re definitely a band to watch.

If you’ve been following along, you know that we recorded an EP in January. We’re pretty thrilled with how it turned out, and it’s finally ready to be released on June 23. We’ll have more details on the CD release party later, but for now here’s the track listing of The Weekend EP.

  2. Undone
  3. Epic Flood
  4. Home With You
  5. Bring Me Down
  6. Nevada

Charity gig

We will be playing at The Owl on Monday, March 12 as part of a fundraiser called 5 Days for the Homeless. We’re on a four-band bill that also includes The Seven Seas, Nick Faye and The Deputies and Danny Goertz (of Fly Points). The admission cost of $10 will go directly to Carmichael Outreach. This will be some great music for a great cause!

Also, don’t forget about our show at The Distrikt on Friday, March 16 with Day Trip and Great Rooms. Visit the gigs page for all past, present, and future shows.

Family Day update

I hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend. Thanks to all who came out to McNally’s on Thursday. If you weren’t there, you missed our best performance yet! We also debuted a brand new song that has us all excited. It will have to wait until our next recording session, though, because our upcoming EP is chugging along and should be ready in the next couple of months.

We have an exciting announcement: we will be playing our first gig at the Distrikt on Friday, March 16! This club has seen some legendary concerts over the years, and it will be very cool to perform on the same stage. Our friends Day Trip are having their CD release party there, and they graciously asked us to play with them, along with Great Rooms, another great Regina band. Did I mention it’s on a Friday night? It will be awesome.

We would also like to share another live video with you. Epic Flood will be on the new EP, and I think you’ll find that it rocks. It’s been a live favourite since we first started playing it last year. This will be the last in the series of McNally’s live videos. Thanks again to Riley Carlson and Jon Stockton for recording and editing for us!
